Undoubtedly you have heard the term “flash mob.” This phenomenon happens when a group of people suddenly assemble in a public place and according to Wikipedia, “perform an unusual and seemingly pointless act for a brief time.”

Flash mobs are an interesting by-product of the unbelievable reach of social media.

But what if there were a way to harness flash mobs to be part of an event or exhibition?

According to an article in Conventions.com titled “Flash of Brilliance,” it may be possible.

Just imagine the media attention your flash mob could attract? Think about the buzz that would spread to delegates and exhibitors.

The article listed four essential steps you need to consider:

  1. Ensure you are not breaking any existing rules  set by the venue or the municipality.
  2. Organize your flash mob performers.
  3. Provide clear instructions to your participants.
  4. Organize the video.

Then, using your well-developed social media presence, spread the word and see what happens.
