Recently, there has been a great deal of attention to the changing demographics of exhibition visitors. Yet, adults sixty five year and older are still active in business and will still remain visible attending exhibitions and conferences. Much of the focus over the last few years has been on those defined at Generation X (in the 24-29 year old demographic)and how we communicate with this tech-savvy group of individuals. This has led to a focus on the power of social networks which has been dominated by this group.

Yet, an interesting bit of research recently released by US based Pew Research found that the number of adults over the age of 65 that use electronic communications (primarily e-mail and the internet) is now at 53% and on the rise.

So, before we abandon tools such as e-mail, it’s important to consider your older attendees and how best to communicate with them.
