I read an interesting thesis by communications guru Nellie Akapl. Her article was titled “5 Tips to Jumpstart Your Creativity”

Creativity is an interesting concept. It seems that organizers and exhibitors share the need for creativity as they both try to attract quality audiences, stand out from the competition and ensure that their messages are heard in a field that has become filled with so much marketing that it’s not surprising that attendees sometimes tune out.

Akapl’s five methods require a paradigm shift from the traditional way of approaching the search for new ideas. Her number one point is something that I have been doing for years which is getting out of my office to find new ideas. I have found that my best writing happens in a noisy Starbucks. The other four ideas are:
2. Silence the inner critic.
3. Experiment with your work environment.
4. Sift out the busy work.
5. Branch out beyond your comfort zone.
If you or your staff are struggling with the issues of finding new and creative ideas, Nellie’s article is worth reading.
