To the associates and professionals of the sector.

UBRAFE – União Brasileira de Promotores de Feiras (Brazilian Union of Fair Promoters), represented by the President of the Board of Directors Abdala Jamil Abdala and by the Executive President Armando Campos Mello, joined the extraordinary meeting of the National Tourism Council – Ministry of Tourism. The meeting discussed the Federal government’s actions to fight the new COVID-19 virus in the country. The Executive Secretary of the Ministry of Health, João Gabardo and the Minister of Tourism, Marcelo Álvaro Antônio, detailed their adopted measures to the sector and the present authorities, as well as to all the participants and the population in general.

On that note, it is up to Ubrafe to inform that the competent authorities are keeping control of important actions related to the progress of Coronavirus and that there is no reason to cancel events. As the Minister of Health said: “life goes on”.

The authorities will readdress any changes to the situation, and Ubrafe will subsequently inform the trade show and events sector of these changes.

Ubrafe is working in partnership with the Ministry of Tourism to communicate the precautions and guidelines related to the virus, also forwarding it to the associates for them to share on their respective social media channels.

In an official consultation made by Ubrafe to the Ministry of Health, we also received the following official information:

At this point, there is no indication to restrict international travel based on the information available about the COVID-19 virus.

The Ministry of Health recommends standard precautionary measures to help prevent the spread of respiratory viruses, including COVID-2019:

  • Wash your hands frequently with soap and water. If there is no soap and water available, use alcohol gel;
  • Avoid touching the eyes, nose and mouth with unwashed hands;
  • Avoid close contact with sick people;
  • Stay at home when you are sick;
  • Cover your nose and mouth with a handkerchief when coughing or sneezing, and throw it away immediately;
  • Clean and disinfect frequently-touched objects and surfaces.

Event organisers are encouraged to communicate these guidelines from the Ministry of Health regarding the prevention and control of the new COVID-2019 virus. For further information, visit:

Ubrafe is available to answer any questions on this matter.

Yours faithfully,

President of the Board of Directors                                      Executive President
