Dear Colleagues!

On behalf of the Russian Union of Exhibitions and Fairs and myself, I would like to express my sympathy to China and it’s Citizens now facing 2019-nCoV Coronavirus as well as all affected by this disease and encourage them to hold on in these challenging times.

Due to the fact that the whole industry should double efforts in restricting the spread of disease by looking at the International practices and National Government messages and Ministries of Health, I would like to summarize an update for you on the situation in Russia.

  1. It is recommended for Russian citizens to abandon/postpone trips to China until the situation stabilizes
  2. Temperature screening was implemented at airports and railway stations and other border check points
  3. The Ministry of Health announced that they see no reason to cancel any events taking place in Russia due to today’s situation
  4. There are 2 people with 2019-nCoV diagnosis in Russia in Tumen and Zabaykalye, both of them are China citizens.

In addition to Governmental efforts, venues, hotels and airports increased their efforts and tightened the cleaning regiments to reduce the risk of infection to zero.

All the events taking place during this period, especially in the Far East region of Russia, are vigilantly monitored both by the organizers and Russian Ministry of health representatives.

Please be assured that the situation in Russia is stable and under control and we, as usual, are welcoming tourists and delegates. Do not hesitate to contact RUEF headquarters if you have any concerns regarding visiting Russia/ attending any events taking place in Russia, by sending your request to info@ruef.ru.

Yours sincerely,
Sergey Voronkov
RUEF President
