The Thailand Convention & Exhibition Bureau (TCEB) has joined forces with the Thai Exhibition Association (TEA) to promote the ‘new normal’ of exhibitions management and operations.

The Exhibitions New Norm SOP (Exhibitions New Norm Standard Operation Procedures) has been conceived as a guideline for all businesses in the exhibition ecosystem. It provides the markets our industry serves with the assurance that they can trade safely and securely in Thailand, in the wake of the Covid-19 epidemic.

This ‘new normal’ landscape in which exhibitions must take place, is subject to safety and hygiene measures that elevate the already high operational standards associated with events in the Thai exhibition industry.

By incorporating these procedures in all aspects of exhibitions businesses, from organisers and service providers through to the businesses attending these events as exhibitors or visitors, business professionals will vastly mitigate the risk of spreading Covid-19.

TCEB will further drive force to return business back for trade shows held in Thailand through its ‘New Norm Exhibition Support. This aims to accelerate the return of exhibitions business as well as the delegates necessary to make each one a success.

The programme offers unrivalled business opportunities for organisers, providing post-Covid-19 continuity for its reputation as a high potential exhibition destination, revitalising the Thai exhibition industry, supporting stakeholders including international organisers and national hotels.

Included in TCEB’s New Norm Exhibition Support is an extra support of up to THB 300,000 for trade shows held in Thailand this fiscal year, channeled through three activities:

  • Hosted Buyer Support: A buyer appreciation programme for organisers to host local and international buyers around the globe to visit trade shows in Thailand.
  • Hygienic Management Support: A support that assists organisers as they bring exhibition safety standards in line with TCEB’s ‘Exhibitions New Norm SOP’, in preparation for reopening.
  • Technology Support: Innovation support for organisers seeking to promote their event during the Covid-19 pandemic, with additional support for digital technologies and tools such as track & trace, visitor density, or AIChatbot. These tools facilitate the conduct of business and safety management at trade shows in Thailand, while artificial intelligence helps organisers match attendees and generate business opportunities upon their return to the show.

TCEB’s support programmes are expected to generate income with an approximate value of USD 84 billion (THB 2,537 billion), paving the way for a return to business as normal, in addition to revitalising the trade show industry in Thailand.
