Informa Markets have held a number of in-person events in Asia as well as a bevy of digital events, and keynote speaker Margaret Ma Connolly, President & CEO of Informa Markets in Asia, “will share the Future of Multichannel events and discuss how the Informa Markets Asia portfolio has changed through COVID – and, more importantly, where it’s headed.”
Another must-attend session is by Wendy Lai, Vice President of Global Sources Exhibitions in Hong Kong, on Building Digital Communities. Originally a print publisher, Global Sources went online back in 1995, then began bringing their communities together at live, in person events in 2003. Keeping communities engaged year-round is a challenge for many exhibition organizers, so delegates can look forward to learning some tips and tricks to bring back to their own events.
Given China’s importance in the region, Jor Zhou, CEO China for GL Events will present, “Growth Strategies in China in a Post-Pandemic World”. Mark explained, “GL Events have done some very interesting acquisitions in the last 2 to 3 years including purchasing exhibitions from CCPIT – which is very unusual. Foreign organizers don’t often manage to acquire Chinese State-owned assets. Jor will also be giving us a round-up of Merger & Acquisition activity in China and discuss the competitive landscape post COVID.”
More China-focused sessions are in the works, one a case study on reopening in-person exhibitions, and the other on digital events in the country.
Keeping up the top notch educational offerings, Singapore-based Tom Mouhsian, Principal Analyst at Forrester will share his thoughts on Vaccines, Quarantines & Passports – where is travel in Asia headed? More travel bubbles or will lengthy quarantines stay the norm? Another Singapore-based expert, Siew Hoon Yeoh, Founder of Web-in-Travel will share her thoughts on the Future of Corporate Travel.
All in all, with over five (5) hours of new content, networking opportunities and fresh perspectives on where we go post-pandemic, this year’s UFI Asia-Pacific Conference is the place to be.
