I recently heard about Anne Arundel Community College in Maryland, USA. Faced with declining enrolment, the administration took a novel approach to correcting the problem. They are now offering “midnight classes.” The first subject will be a psychology class that will be offered to freshmen from midnight to 3:00 A.M. They are hoping to be able to attract more students. This same approach is now being implemented in four universities in other states.
It got me thinking about how we organize exhibitions. We may tinker a bit with the formula but for the most part, other than the industry specific stuff, they look remarkable similar.
While the example of midnight classes might seem extreme and impractical, it highlights the point that with a bit of foresight and a whole lot of courage, there may be unique opportunities in unexpected places.
If you have heard of an interesting and unique approach to exhibition organization let us know.
