The Trade Show News Network (TSNN) has recently released a comprehensive study titled 2010 Virtual Event Report: Insights and Trends from Industry Insiders.  The report deals with so many aspects of Virtual that I plan to post a few blog on it.

One significant quote reads: “More than 75% of the total (800 participants) stated that they viewed a virtual event as an add-on or an extension to an existing physical event.” Can it be long before these same participants see virtual events on their own without connecting to a live trade fair? The answer is not clear.

However, one key area of the report was on the costs savings that can be achieved by all the stakeholders. These cost savings include transportation, entertainment, the cost of a physical space, housing, etc. The report stated that “these cost-savings are applicable to everyone involved in the event, whether you are an organizer, exhibitor or attendee.” What they did not mention was the impact on the facilities and the economic benefit of a physical event on the hosting community.

The report is worth reading.
