Travel is an inherent part of the exhibition business. As I travel I can’t help but notice people texting on their Smartphone or balancing a computer on their knees trying to get some work done while they wait for the next flight.  This got me thinking about where the best places a traveler can go to get some work done while on the road.

I found an interesting post on American Express’s blog called “Five Places to get Work Done When You’re Travelling.”

Here are their top five:

  1. Looseclubs. These are a network of locations now in 506 cities and 63 countries worldwide where a traveler can book ahead of time to have a spot to catch up on work or simply to socialize.
  2. The Hub –  similar to Looseclubs. Currently The Hub is found in 26 cities around the world and has created a place for “accessing space, resources, connections, knowledge, experience and investment.” Check them out at: http://www.the-hub.net/about.html
  3. Hotel Office Centers. Most hotels have a business center that they make available to registered guests but many are now opening their doors to transient guests who need a place to work for a few hours.
  4. Airport Terminals and Clubs. Most airlines have their own clubs or offer access to frequent flyers to generic clubs or those affiliated to an alliance such as Star Alliance or One World.
  5. Libraries. These are often overlooked but many are equipped with Wi-Fi and the best part is that they are quiet.
