Many fairs and events have a “no photography” policy. The rationale behind this is to help protect exhibitor’s intellectual property and copyrights from unscrupulous people who would take unfair advantage of having this information.
It used to be a relatively easy policy to monitor when cameras were large and bulky. But that’s all changed. I recently heard a speaker say that the best camera for the average user is the one that is most convenient. For most people that is the one on their Smartphone.
Now that there are nearly 2.5 billion Smartphone’s being used, has the no photography policy lost its effectiveness?
What are organizers doing to protect their exhibitors from industrial espionage?
