Hamish McRae, economists, author and opening keynote speaker at UFI’s 79th Congress in Abu Dhabi provided much thought-provoking information that tied directly to the conference theme “where is growth coming from.”

The AHA moment for me was his prediction that by 2027, fifteen short years from now, China’s GDP will surpass the economy of the US.

McRae was quick to point out that his prediction was not a new and earth-shattering but a return to the way the world’s economic picture looked like 100 years ago. What does all this mean for the exhibition world…it’s worth talking about here at UFILive and whenever we get together with industry colleagues at events such as this in the future.
