For years the two most popular metrics for shows and venues have been Net square footage and exhibit space. But a recent survey by Red 7 Media Research & Consulting seems to indicate that organizers may be looking for more.

For example, 57% of those surveyed cited the need for enhanced technology as their most important event criteria. This was followed by attendance promotion assistance at 51% and multi-function capabilities at 45%.

When asked “How your event management business practices are changing”, 76% responded with an increase in negotiations with venues, hotels and facilities.
It’s a very interesting study and while it is US based it isn’t a great stretch to assume that the results are similar in other parts of the world.
