The US based Center for Exhibition Industry Research has just released a new study called: Organization Size: What Really Matters.

This study examined the habits of companies of various sizes and their attitudes towards exhibitions. There were two noteworthy findings.

Mid and large size companies are more likely to attend an exhibition with a greater number of shopping needs (interest in seeing products, ability to compare vendors and tofind solutions) than smaller companies.

The second finding took a look at the top five information sources these companies use when selecting the exhibitions they attend. There were no significant difference between various company sizes. The top five sources were: word of mouth, personal invitation from vendor, e-mail from colleague, organizer’s website and e-mail from organizer. What stands out is that there is no reference to texts or social media.
