Thailand Convention and Exhibition Bureau (TCEB) is unveiling its five-year action plan (2023-2027) under the TCEB Go strategy and Thailand MICE to Meet You Year 2023 campaign in a bid to revitalize the economy and promote Thailand as a premier MICE destination on the global stage.
The TCEB Go strategy is executed through five strategic approaches:
T: Thailand as Global MICE Leader – positions Thailand as a premier destination for world-class MICE events by bidding mega-size shows to Thailand. Trailblazing by the Expo 2028 in Phuket and the International Horticultural Exposition 2029 in Nakhon Ratchasima, myriad of world-prestigious shows are planned to arrive in forthcoming years.
C: Create Destination Competitiveness Through Diverse Local Identity – promotes memorable localized products and experiences for MICE travelers.
E: Execute Innovative MICE Solution – fosters digital skills and innovation in MICE services through the MICE Intelligence Center, Thailand MICE One Stop Service, and the MICE Winnovation project.
B: Build Agile and High Performance Organization – transforms TCEB itself into an agile and high-performing organization, balancing work environment with personnel development on a sustainable basis.
Go: Go for MICE Sustainability – revolutionizes Thailand’s MICE industry on sustainability and environmental responsibility through the Global Destination Sustainability Index, ISO 20121, carbon-neutral events, and functions as a certifying body aiming to cover 500 MICE professionals over the next five years.
According to Mr. Chiruit Isarangkun Na Ayuthaya, President of TCEB, in this fiscal year (October 2022-September 2023), the focus will be on elevating Thailand’s position as a hub for global meetings. This year, Thailand has been chosen as the host for major events, including the World Congress of Nephrology, the AFECA Annual General Meeting 2023, and the 62nd ICCA Congress 2023.
TCEB continues to support exhibitions in the 12 targeted S-Curve industries such as the VIV Asia 2023 & Meat Pro Asia 2023 and the ASEAN Sustainable Energy Week (ASEW) 2023 that represents food processing, robotics, and future automotive industries.
As for the incentive travel sector, over 80,000 MICE travelers will be visiting Thailand during this March and November, majorly from Asia-Pacific and China.
In addition, TCEB will be organizing National MICE Day on 26 April, bringing together experts in technology and sustainability to exchange insights and experiences with 400 representatives from MICE industries.
