Years ago when the topic of privacy in marketing became an issue, countries scrambled to develop their own legislation. Today over 200 countries have legislation that addresses the needs of consumer privacy. The same issue seems to be happening with social media.
Never before has the content of the programs offered to attendees of our conferences and fairs been more critical than now when visitors are becoming more selective about the events they attend.
The premise of her talk is that social media and technology while allowing us to stay in contact, is doing so at the price of real conversations. This, according to professor Turtle “Will have some serious consequences for our relationships, our self-perceptions and our emotions.”
