There was an interesting article in February’s issue of Trade Show Executive titled “Ideas You Can Use.” In this article author Danica Tormohlen listed seven strategies that US based show managers are successfully using  to “cut costs, streamline operations, increase attendee engagement, add value for exhibitors, expand international reach and incorporate new marketing strategies.”

Her seven include:

  • Getting government support
  • VIP treatment for top buyers
  • Apps
  • Targeted attendee programs
  • Increased engagement
  • Personalized videos
  • A long-term sustainability plan

It is a thought-provoking article with lots of good examples of shows that have incorporated these strategies. I rate this as a must-read article for anyone looking to improve their exhibitions.
