11 new international trade shows in 5 months

24 October 2022: Thailand’s trade show industry has staged a strong rebound since borders reopened. Eleven new international trade shows were successfully launched between May and September of this year with supports from Thailand Convention and Exhibition Bureau (TCEB) in pursuit of advancing the “Thailand 4.0” national agenda. And to effectively take the initiative, the bureau also launched its “SPIRE Thailand” – a campaign that helps driving domestic exhibitions in key vertical industries.

The 11 new international shows — namely Asia Pacific Rail; Beyond Mobile; Future Mobility Asia; Maintenance, Industrial Robotics, and Automation (MiRA); Bio Asia Pacific; Cosmoprof CBE ASEAN; Building and Construction Technology (BCT Expo); Enlit Asia; Solar+Storage Asia (SSA); Manufacturing Transformation (MATRA); and ASEAN Tools Expo — were to serve digitalization, intelligent automation, robotics, life sciences, healthcare, clean energy, and logistics industries. More than half of them were staged either by local presences of international organizers, or in partnership with Thai organizers. Two of which, MiRA and MATRA, were held in Pattaya – the new exhibition hub for the Eastern Economic Corridor (EEC).

TCEB President, Mr. Chiruit Isarangkun Na Ayuthaya, said “The fact that we have 11 international exhibitions made their debut in Thailand within five-months span shows that our exhibition industry is now rebounded, and the organizers have high confidence in the country as well as economical potentials of the EEC. Our support for shows that are in line with ‘Thailand 4.0’ strategy depicts our policy-level commitment to use trade show as an instrument to drive economic transformation. We are glad to help organizers maximize their return-on-investment and to provide the industry with a timely boost.”

CEO of Fireworks Trade Media Group, the organizer of MATRA, Mr. Kenny Yong, said “We have chosen the EEC for our show because it is attracting a lot of investment and our show is technology-driven for industry transformation and efficiency befitting the investors in the EEC and responding to ‘Thailand 4.0’ industries. Thanks to TCEB’s support, we were able to launch MATRA as a new addition to our portfolio and the first show of its kind in this special economic zone.”

In the domestic realm, TCEB had introduced its new marketing campaign “SPIRE Thailand: Strengthen Power in Regional Exhibitions” that helps local entrepreneurs to live up to global emerging trends like intelligent automation and sustainability. By synergizing this domestic campaign with the aforementioned international supporting scheme, TCEB is optimistic to see an even more vigorous return of Exhibition industry in Thailand.
