If you are having a tough time keeping up with technology, welcome to the club.  Changes are happening so quickly that it now seems like Twitter, LinkedIn and Facebook are, if you will excuse the colloquialism, so yesterday.

Here’s a new site I just discovered. It’s called Pinterest. It is USA based for now and focuses on the retail sectors.  They have enrolled major retailer such as Nordstrom’s, Whole Foods and West Elm, but what’s really interesting is the demographics of its subscribers. They include:

28% are from households with $100,000 + in income

The average subscriber spends 15.8 minutes on the site (compared to Facebook – 12.1 Minutes, YouTube – 16.4 minutes and Twitter – 3.3 Minutes.)

The age of subscriber is – 27.4% are between the ages of 25-34,

22.1% between the ages of 35-44 and

17.9% between the ages of 45 – 54.

The daily number of visitors now exceeds 1.36 million.

What happens in the USA doesn’t stay in the USA very long. It won’t be long before subscribers world-wide will know about Pinterest. With its ability to attract its market it doesn’t take a great stretch of the imagination to see how organizers of B to C fairs can increase their leverage to boost on-site traffic.

I am always interested in learning about new on-line opportunities for the exhibition industry. If you have seen or heard of one let us know.
