Building on a record year with more shows, visitors and venues

While our 2018 plans begin to unfold, we at TCEB have also been taking time to reflect on 2017; a year in which we made significant progress in boosting our offering to overseas organisers. It was a year of recognition, praised for reforms by the World Bank in its Doing Business report, demonstrating our enriched proposition to event organisers in areas such as investment protection, business start-up aid and contract security. Further ratings improvement came courtesy of recent UFI statistics, [...]

ASEAN opportunity for exhibition organisers

Much like the exhibitions we trade in, Smart Cities promote industrial development and digital innovation. As hubs for digital services able to connect foreign countries, they attract digital workers, investors and software companies from around the world. The Phuket province will host the first smart city in Thailand, re-conceived around the notions of flexibility, ease of doing business and overseas investment, with an overall revision of potentially obstructive trading laws and regulations. T [...]

An emerging exhibition market bursting with energy

Blogger: Mrs. Jaruwan Suwannasat Director, Exhibition and Events Department of TCEB Thailand has made great efforts to reduce its dependence on imported and fossil fuel energy in recent years, doubling its production of renewable-energy to 30 per cent by 2036. The government aims to reduce greenhouse gases by 25 per cent in the same period; a bold commitment given Thailand’s fast growing and power hungry middle class. The country is well positioned to lead the development of renewable energy in [...]

Eastern development poses fresh opportunity for tradeshow organisers

Blogger: Mrs. Jaruwan Suwannasat Director, Exhibition and Events Department of TCEB The Eastern Economic Corridor, or EEC, is a pivotal initiative for Thailand as we progress towards our socio-economic goal of Thailand 4.0. It will be the most complete and specialised economic zone in Thailand, perhaps even in the ASEAN, containing commercial metropolises built around future industries and providing an investor’s gateway to Asia. For more than 30 years Thailand’s eastern seaboard has been the ce [...]

A healthy market for an evolving healthcare industry

Blogger: Mrs. Jaruwan Suwannasat Director, Exhibition and Events Department of TCEB Evolving healthcare technologies, a rising middle class increasingly able to afford them, as well as an ageing population that needs them, is taking Southeast Asia’s health and wellness industry into a new era. And in the centre of the region, Thailand’s healthcare and wellness industry is particularly well positioned for commercialisation, due in part to the Government’s Thailand 4.0 vision. Or so said a panel o [...]
